The Secret Dark Age Of Ancient Egypt – How much do we really know?

The secret dark age of ancient Egypt refers to the time period in Egyptian history that is shrouded in mystery. This period lasted from roughly 2200 BC to 1800 BC and very little is known about it. What caused this dark age and why are the records so scarce? These are questions that have yet to be answered.

Some scholars believe that a natural disaster such as famine, earthquake, or plague may have caused this decline. Whatever the cause, the end result was a decline in art, literature, and science.
